PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electronic appliance with a camera for preventing illumination light from appearing in a photographed picture when a display picture or a projection image is photographed. SOLUTION: The electronic appliance with the camera displays a two-dimensional code 30, where setting information to set the function of an electronic camera 11 is encoded, in the display 21a of a personal computer 21. The electronic camera 11 photographs the two-dimensional code 30 which is displayed in the display 21a in response to a release indication and performs a prescribed function setting processing on the basis of the two-dimensional code 30 included in a photographed image. An identification pattern 30a to indicate that displaying is performed in the display 21a is embedded in the two-dimensional code 30 to be displayed in the display 21a, so as to display the pattern 30a. When the identification pattern 30a is detected from the image data for displaying a through-image before a main photographing processing, a control part 112 of the electronic camera 11 prohibits the light emission of a flash device 116 regardless of the set light emission mode of the flash device 116.
