PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high compression by duplicating image data from figure data when PDL or a document of AdobePS, PDF, etc., includes the figure data, comparing their file sizes, and employing data with a smaller file size as an object. SOLUTION: A system which compresses an object has a means for reading and interpreting a document, a means for interpreting respective objects, a means for determining whether each object is figure data, a means for duplicating image data of figure data when an object is the figure data, a means for comparing sizes of the figure data and image data, and a means for replacing the figure data in the document with the image data when the size of the image data is smaller.
