PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a split imaging system and apparatus provided with a means capable of automatically determining the respective split imaging areas of the entire imaging object area, automatically performing split imaging and easily determining the installation position of a camera so as to sufficiently obtain the resolution of split images. SOLUTION: In the split imaging system for automatically determining the split imaging areas, the picked-up images of the entire imaging object area are obtained by the first camera of a wide visual field angle set to a prescribed viewing angle installed according to deviation display from an appropriate position, and the boundary of the entire imaging object area is specified on the picked-up image. By using the boundary, the viewing angle in imaging of the first camera and a second camera, the position and posture of the first camera in imaging the entire imaging object area, and the relative position and posture data of the first camera and the second camera, the size and arrangement of the respective split imaging areas and the position and posture of the second camera for imaging the respective imaging areas are determined and stored. In the separately determined order of split imaging, split imaging is performed to the respective split imaging areas while matching the position and posture of the second camera with stored numerical values.
