PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide identification and isolation of a novel DNA, recombinant production of a novel polypeptide encoded by the DNA, and application of the polypeptide. SOLUTION: A specific nucleic acid sequence encoding a polypeptide with a specific amino acid sequence (polypeptide having homology with extremely long-chain acyl-CoA synthetase) which is newly isolated, a vector comprising the nucleic acid sequence, a host cell expressing the vector, a chimeric polypeptide molecule comprising the polypeptide fused to a heterologous polypeptide sequence such as an immunoglobulin, and an antibody which binds to the polypeptide, are provided.
