PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus, eliminating tension and deflection to be generated in a recording medium to perform high-grade recording without misregistration and color misregistration in the case of double-gripping the recording medium before and after a recording head and conveying the same. SOLUTION: This recording apparatus includes: a first conveying means 4 having a grip roller 10 and a pinch roller 11 disposed on te downstream side in the conveying direction of the record head 6; and a second conveying means 5 having a grip roller 17 and a pinch roller 18 disposed on the upstream side in the conveying direction of the record head, wherein the apparatus further includes a one-way clutch 21 for making the first conveying means and the second conveying means different in the conveying speed, and working on the grip roller 17 of the conveying means 5 having a lower conveying speed in the idling direction by tension of the recording medium 3.
