PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water absorbent material which simplifies a process at the time of processing of a product, imparts a good wearing feeling to the product, has no wetting feeling, causes no leakage of moisture and has excellent washing durability. SOLUTION: The water absorbent material is composed of at least a water absorbent layer and a waterproof layer both of which are integrally fixed over the almost whole surfaces of them. The water absorbent layer comprises fibers and has a gap quantity per 100 cm<SP>2</SP>of 10 cc or above and a thickness of 1-20 mm. The main constituent fiber is a synthetic fiber with a thickness of 0.01-2 dtex and the waterproof layer is constituted of a synthetic resin film. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
