PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine capable of elongating the service life of a driving means for symbol variation by retaining an automatic stop function of the symbol variation and avoiding a winning by the automatic stop without letting a player feel any incongruity. SOLUTION: Two reels (for example, reels 350B and 350C) out of three-row reels 350A, 350B and 350C are made to stop by stop buttons 356B and 356C in advance, when a game enters into an automatic stop period and a necessity of automatically stopping the reel 350A arises, this game machine determines a winning by defining the period when the necessity of automatic stop arises to a temporary stop position of the reel 350A, and when prize-winning a role which wins no role lottery or a role which wins a role lottery but inhibits the prize winning by the automatic stop, continues the variation, executes the aforementioned determination for every variation of one piece, and issues a stop command at a time point of confirming to win no prize. This constitution can avoid the prize winning without letting the player feel any incongruity, for example, compared with a case where avoiding the prize-winning by executing a sliding control beyond the range of the sliding control.
