<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in a conventional walker which is not equipped with a device for assisting standing motion and a caregiver is therefore required in standing motion, which has limited a range within which a walker user can act individually. <P>SOLUTION: Two support members are provided on an opening type rail which connects the upper parts of posts erected at both ends of a front part of a traveling member, and arms each with a reinforcing member and an upper rail as a pair are extended from the support members. Body support tools on which both sides of the walker user are placed to allow longitudinal movement while supporting the body weight, are mounted to the tips of the arms. Gas cylinders are mounted to connect the upper rail to a lower rail provided above the traveling member, and the gas cylinders are fixed after adjusted in longitudinal movement according to the user's body weight and physical strength. Consequently, when the extending force of the gas cylinders and the user's body weight are made a force point and an application point using the support members as fulcrums, the user can stand up and sit down by the conversion of balance based on the longitudinal movement of the body support tools supporting the user's standing motion and body weight. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
