<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium-containing silicon oxide catalyst which can be used in such a reaction that, for example, a hydroperoxide is reacted with an olefinic compound to obtain an oxirane compound and which can exhibit high activity and selectivity. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the titanium-containing silicon oxide catalyst which satisfies the following conditions (1) to (4) is provided , (1) this catalyst has ≥10 Å average pore size, (2) pores accounting for ≥90% of the total pore volume have 5-200 Å pore size, (3) this catalyst has ≥0.2 cm<SP>3</SP>/g specific pore volume, and (4) a part or the whole of a silica source to be used as a raw material is a silicon compound whose hydrocarbon group is bonded directly to a silicon atom, and the method comprises a first step of mixing/agitating the silica source, a titanium source and a template in a solvent to obtain a solid containing catalyst components and the template and a second step of removing the template from the solid obtained at the first step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
