PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera which can accommodate to users with various skills by a single model, can suppress a product price by reducing a cost, and can secure an advantage in a market. SOLUTION: An electronic camera is provided with an information registration means (52) for associating information of a fingerprint read by a fingerprint reading means (8), information of an owner of the fingerprint with an arbitrary restriction condition concerning the control operation of a camera to be registered; a determining means (54) for collating the fingerprint information read by the fingerprint reading means directly after power is turned on with information of the fingerprint registered in the information registration means, and determining whether or not the information of the owner of the fingerprint read by the fingerprint reading means is registered in the information registration means directly after the power is turned on; and a control means reading the control condition associated with the information of the owner of the fingerprint read by the fingerprint reading means directly after the power is turned on from the information registration means to control an operation of the camera based on the control condition, when a determination result of the determination means indicates that the information is registered in the registration means.
