PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a main battery from becoming exhausted and unrecoverable when a sub-battery becomes exhausted in a battery charger that charges the main battery and the sub-battery. SOLUTION: A rectified power supply circuit 2 with a voltage regulating function rectifies an output of an alternating-current generator 1 driven by an engine, regulates it so that a set value is not exceeded to obtain direct-current voltage, and outputs it to between output terminals 2a and 2b. A battery charger equipped with this rectified power supply circuit is provided with a main output terminal 2c and an auxiliary output terminal 2d. A first MOSFET F1 that is turned on when the generator 1 produces output is provided between the main output terminal 2c and the output terminal 2a. A second MOSFET F2 that is turned on when the output voltage of the rectified power supply circuit becomes equal to or higher than a set value is provided between the auxiliary output terminal 2d and the output terminal 2a. A main battery 3 is connected between the main output terminal 2c and the negative output terminal 2b of the rectified power supply circuit; and a sub-battery 4 is connected between the auxiliary output terminal 2d and the negative output terminal 2b.
