PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone device for easily retrieving desired recording data. SOLUTION: At the time of recording speech, a record data generating part 107 separately records an incoming speech voice at a user side and an outgoing speech voice at the other side, and generates the record data at a set bit rate. At the time of retrieving speech recording, words or phrases which seem to be present during a speech with the voice of a user are inputted from a microphone 109 as a voice, and the voice is converted into waveform, and a voice waveform for retrieval is generated by a voice waveform generating part 102. A waveform retrieving part 112 retrieves recording data having waveform almost matched with voice waveform from the incoming speech voice of the narrowed-down recording data.
