PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinge unit which makes use convenient when various functions, such as dynamic pictures and satellite broadcasting viewing and listening are performed, a hinge device, a portable terminal, and electronic instruments by intercoupling a first body and a second body in a way to be rotatable to about 360 degrees. SOLUTION: The portable terminal comprises a first body 10; a second body 20 mounted on the first body 10 capably of opening and closing; and a hinge unit 30 to effect hinge-coupling of the first body 10 and the second body 20 rotatably. The hinge unit 30 includes a first hinge unit 40 mounted in the first body 10; a second hinge unit 50 mounted on the second body 20 and geared with the first hinge unit 40 and turning at the same turning angle as that of the first hinge unit 40; and a coupling unit to rotatably intercouple the first hinge unit 40 and the second hinge unit 50.
