PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control device for handheld construction machinery, which can greatly reduce vibrations on the hand side of a handle, without requiring any change in the structure of the handheld construction machinery such as existing soil tamping equipment. SOLUTION: A mass member 9, which is composed of a plurality of small metallic balls 8, is movably housed in a housing 7 which is fixed to the handheld construction machinery, and an inner surface of the housing 7 is covered with an elastic body 10. Since the plurality of small metallic balls 8 collide with the inner surface of the housing 7 so that the vibrations can be damped, the transmission of the vibrations to an operator's hands can be reduced. The elastic body 10 on the inner surface of the housing 7 can prevent an unusual noise from being generated by the collision of the small metallic balls 8 with the inner surface of the housing 7, and can also bring about cushioning against contact reaction.
