PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute image processing while reflecting user's tastes without giving a burden to a user. SOLUTION: An image processing part 28 applies image processing such as gradation processing to image data stored in a hard disk 23 in order to improve image quality, and the processed image data are obtained. A variation quantity calculation part 30 calculates a representative value of the variation quantity of a pixel value for the image before processing and after processing. A determination part 32 determines that image processing is necessary for the image data when the representative value is higher than a predetermined threshold, and determines that the image processing is not necessary for the image data when the representative value is equal to or lower than the predetermined threshold.
