PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to visually recognize the entire retrieval results in a short period of time by always making situations over the entire retrieval target period displayable in one screen. SOLUTION: A CPU 11 of the image retrieval and display device 1 receives an input of a retrieval target period and the number of list displays by an inputting part 17a. Next, the CPU 11 executes an image retrieval program 14a and sets a retrieval interval for extracting image frames in equal intervals over the entire retrieval target period from the inputted retrieval target period and number of list displays. Then, the CPU 11 accesses a stored image database 2 and extracts image frames for display according to the set retrieval interval.
