PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display apparatus and an apparatus for driving plasma display panel that can eliminate the irrationality that a plasma display panel is replaced when a data drive IC is defective. SOLUTION: The plasma display apparatus comprises a plasma display panel including electrodes, a drive board on which the drive IC outputting drive pulses for driving the plasma display panel is mounted, a connector which is electrically connected to an output terminal of the drive IC, and a drive connection portion which supplies the drive pulses outputted through the output terminal of the drive IC to the electrodes of the plasma display panel.
