PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carburized component realizing the increase of strength regarding a power transmission component such as a gear, and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: The carburized component has a composition comprising, by mass, 0.01 to 0.30% C, 0.80 to 1.50% Si, 0.30 to 1.20% Mn and 2.0 to 5.5% Cr, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. The average C concentration from the surface to a depth of 0.2 mm in the steel after vacuum carburization treatment is 1.2 to 3.0%, the area ratio of carbides from the surface to a depth of 50μm is 15 to 60%, also, the carbides are finely dispersed and precipitated in such a manner that the carbides with the dimensions of≤10μm account for≥90% of the total component, and further, the depth of an intergranular oxide layer from the surface is≤1μm.
