The invention relates to a device for the light analysis of particles from a discrete particulate flow with at least one light-emitting device, arranged adjacent to a dropping path after a conveyor belt and sensor means for the localised detection of the received radiation and a number of optical glass fibres, arranged to run in a row from an intense light source, across the width of the conveyor belt with the light emitting ends thereof transverse to the direction of the dropping movement, whereby the ends of the optical glass fibres are aligned on an imaginary line for the falling material flow.
