An electric double layer capacitor formed by layering unit cells (11), in which collectors (14a, 14b) that are in contact with each other in adjacent unit cells (11) are a collector couple (14) formed by bending a single sheet. Preferably, a linearly extending groove (14c) is formed in the sheet that forms the collector couple (14) and the sheet can be folded at the position of the groove (14c). Further preferably, three or more unit cells (11) are connected by two or more collector couples (14), and, of the two or more collector couples (14), a collector couple (14) that forms a collector (14a) on one surface of a unit cell (11) is folded to the opposite direction to the collector couple (14) that forms the collector (14b) on the other surface of the unit cell (11).
