The base (1) can be of a round or rectangular shape and has a short cylindrical extension (2) on top, suitable for the insertion of the lower end of the column holding the parasol. The pole is secured with a horizontally positioned knurled nut (5). Two slots are located at the lower side of the base (1) serving as guides for the lateral elements (7) of an extending carrying handle (6). Two rectangular metal sheets are screwed to the base (1) from below, holding the lateral elements (7) in position.
