1,130,514. Protective devices and brush gear for dynamo-electric machines. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. 2 Dec., 1965 [3 Dec., 1964], No. 51111/65. Heading H2A. Excessive heating or current overload of a rotary electric machine is prevented by a thermal sensitive switch, a contact of which is formed by a movable brush 10 of the machine which may be lifted off of the commutator or slip ring 8 by a heat-sensitive member 26, e.g. a bi-metal disc. The bi-metal disc 26 is mounted on pole shoe 3 of the motor near the armature winding (7, Fig. 4, not shown) so that the bimetal disc responds to heat from the armature winding. A plate 29 prevents the bi-metal disc from deforming or altering its characteristic when the machine is operating at the correct temperature. The motor has a permanent magnet field 4.
|
