<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the leading edge, the trailing edge and the double feeding of recording material, and the position of the recording material being an image forming object, when the doubly feeding is caused by using a device for detecting the thickness of the recording material. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is constituted of a paper feed means of feeding the recording material, a conveying means of conveying the fed recording material, the detection means of detecting the thickness of the conveyed recording material, a setting means of setting an image forming condition, based on the thickness of the recording material detected by the detection means of detecting the thickness of the recording material, and a means of generating a subscanning reference signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
