<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus preventing a toner discharged from a rotating member to an image carrier from dropping and sticking on the lens surface of an exposure means. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 10 is provided with: the image carrier 13; an electrifying means 36 for electrifying the image carrier 13; the exposure means 40 for exposing the electrified surface 13A of the image carrier 13 electrified by the electrifying means 36 with light emitted from the lens surface 42a and forming an electrostatic latent image; a developing means 38 for developing the electrostatic latent image with the toner; a transfer medium 14 which is brought in press-contact with the image carrier 13 and on which the toner is transferred; and the rotating member 34 which is arranged between the transfer medium 14 and the electrifying means 36, for recovering the toner sticking to the image carrier 13, temporarily holding the toner and emitting the toner to the image carrier 13 when an image forming operation is not performed. The apparatus 10 is also provided with a rocking mechanism 50 for separating the lens surface 42A of the exposure means 40 from the electrified surface 13A of the image carrier 13 when the image forming operation is not performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
