PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an objective lens drive apparatus, and an optical pickup apparatus in which the configuration of a drive mechanism is extremely simple, there is no risk of heating, further, low vibration, low power consumption, and low noise can be achieved. SOLUTION: Polymer actuators 108, 109 are used as a drive source. One end of the polymer actuator 109 for tracking is fixed to an actuator supporting substrate 111 of a housing 101, and the other end is connected to both ends of the polymer actuator 108 for focusing through a connection member 110. A lens holder 107 holding an objective lens 106 is attached on the polymer actuator 108 for focusing. The polymer actuators 108, 109 are curved in a direction perpendicular to a surface by applying potential to a conductive polymer layer.
