PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic vending machine facilitating supply of articles for sales into an article storage rack and facilitating taking out of articles when being operated as a showcase. SOLUTION: A body case 1 with an opening in the front surface includes an article storing rack 10 for storing articles, and an article receiving base 12 that travels in the front surface of the article storing rack 10 at the time of selling of articles and that carries the article delivered from the article storing rack 10 into an article delivery outlet 6 after receiving the article. This automatic vending machine has a window for viewing the articles stored in the article storing rack 10 on a front side door 3 for closing the opening. The article storing rack 10 can move between the near side and the far side. A shelf moving device 130 for moving the article storing rack 10 is provided for positioning the article storing rack 10 to the near side at the time of standby for selling the articles and for moving the article storing rack 10 to the far side at the time of selling the articles.
