MANUFACTURING METHOD OF OLEFIN COPOLYMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a copolymer of a non-polarα-olefin with a polar olefin in the presence of a specific radical polymerization initiator. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the copolymer comprises polymerizing a 2-20C non-polarα-olefin with a 3-20C polar olefin in the presence of the radical polymerization initiator comprising a cobalt salene compound represented by formula (1) and an organic halide compound. In formula (1), R1, R2, R3and R4are each independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an optionally substituted 1-10C alkyl group, an optionally substituted 7-20C aralkyl group, an optionally substituted 6-20C aryl group or the like; and R5, R6and R7are each independently a hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted 1-10C alkyl group, an optionally substituted 7-20C aralkyl group or an optionally substituted 6-20C aryl group, and may be linked together to form a ring.
