In the production of cutting particles (A) consisting of hard material particle(s) (I) and binder material (II), where (I) and (II) are heated to the m.pt. of (II) to give a solid composite body of (I) and (II), a particulate mixture of (I) and (II) is applied to a flat plate and heated to the m.pt. of (II) using high energy density radiation.
