<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head lamp capable of obtaining three kinds of light distribution patterns at low manufacturing cost. <P>SOLUTION: A shade is formed by rotatable first shade 21 and second shade 41. The first shade 21 is made to rotate by two solenoids 80 having a plunger with a stroke different from each other. In the case a first plunger 82 of a first solenoid 81 is extended, only the first shade 21 rotates, and in the case a second plunger 86 of a second solenoid 85 is extended, the second shade 41 is also rotated interlocking with the rotation of the first shade 21. By the above, a state where the shade is not rotating, a state where only the first shade 21 is rotating, and a state where the first shade 21 and the second shade 41 are rotating, can be formed, and three kinds of light distribution patterns can be formed.
