PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accomplish a control system in which relative positions of a remote controller and a television are recognized and contents can be selected or sound effects can be adjusted at the side of the television so as to be suited to the recognition by effectively utilizing an imaging means provided in the remote controller. SOLUTION: An external form of a liquid crystal television 100 is imaged by an imaging means 210 provided in a remote controller 200 and when a picked-up image is put on a control signal Sc and supplied from a control signal projection unit 220 to the liquid crystal television 100, at the side of the liquid crystal television 100, the relative position of the remote controller 200 (namely, of a viewer) to the liquid crystal television 100 is calculated from an extent of trapezoidal distortion of the picked-up image. The sound volume of left and right speakers 103, 104 is then balanced to be suited to the calculated relative position, and directivity of sounding is turned toward the viewer.
