PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication terminal equipment which has a function for learning a pattern of a dial tone and consequently can securely prevent collision of an originating call and a terminating call and can prevent the occurrence of a situation where the call cannot be made even when equipment is connected to a private branch exchange. SOLUTION: When equipment is on-hooked in S10 with a control operation of MPU when a mode is set to a learning mode, "YES" is determined. When the dial tone is inputted from the private branch exchange in S20, "YES" is determined. When an input operation of a stop key is not performed in S30, the pattern (frequency/period) of the dial tone from the private branch exchange is stored in a dial tone storage part in S40.
