<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deformation of a cleaning roller by utilizing a mechanism of bringing an electrophotographic photoreceptor and a developing roller into contact with each other or parting both. <P>SOLUTION: In the process cartridge having a cleaning unit and a developing unit rotatably coupled to the cleaning unit, a gear provided at a photoreceptor drum and a gear provided at the developing roller mesh each other when the photoreceptor and the developing roller part from each other.
