PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminance correction apparatus which reduces the quantity of information to be preserved for luminance correction. SOLUTION: The luminance correction apparatus corrects luminance of each of pixels constituting an image to be obtained by detecting, by an image sensor, light transmitted through a lens, and also the luminance correction apparatus includes: a temporary optical axis setting means 132 for setting, as a temporary optical axis, an axial line passed through the center of the image; a measuring point setting means 134 for setting, as measuring points, at least three points in the equal distance from the temporary optical axis set by the means 132; a luminance calculating means 136 for calculating luminance at each of the measuring points set by the means 134; a coefficient calculating means 138 for calculating a coefficient obtained by dividing the luminance calculated by the luminance calculating means with the square of the distance of each of the measuring points from the temporary optical axis for each of the measuring points; a storage means 150 for storing a mean value of the coefficient calculated by the means 138 for each of the measuring points; and a pixel luminance correcting means 140 for correcting the luminance of the pixel based on the mean value stored in the storage means 150.
