PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time required for an assembly process and reduce an assembly space. SOLUTION: This transmission has a transmission case 10, a differential rotation device, a friction engaging element, a cup-like member for storing the differential rotation device and the friction engaging element, and a regulation element locked in an opening part of the cup-like member to regulate travel of the differential rotation device and the friction engaging element in the axial direction. A first assembly body is constituted by predetermined parts of the differential rotation device, a second assembly body is constituted by each part of the cup-like member and the friction engaging element, a third assembly body is constituted by the transmission case, a fourth assembly body is constituted by the first to third assembly bodies, and a fifth assembly body is constituted by the fourth assembly body, the differential rotation device, other parts, and the regulation element.
