PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce drag torque by additionally forming a groove for generating dynamical pressure on a frictional material of a part where a brake band is kept into contact with a drum, and by suppressing drop of the band by generating the dynamical pressure by viscosity of oil in rotation. SOLUTION: In this brake band wherein brackets are connected with both end portions of a curved strap, and the frictional material is adhered to an inner side of the curved strap, the groove for generating dynamical pressure is formed on the frictional material of only an area positioned at a vertical upper portion in a state of being mounted on an automatic transmission.
