PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate an exhaust temperature without causing an inconvenience such as a rise in costs. SOLUTION: An intake pipe 11 of an engine 10 is provided with an injector 13, and an exhaust pipe 15 is provided with an A/F sensor 16. The A/F sensor 16 has a built-in heater. An ECU 40 detects an element impedance of the A/F sensor 16. The ECU 40 also controls heater electrification of the A/F sensor 16 and calculates generated heat of the heater accompanying heater electrification. Further, the exhaust temperature is estimated based on the element impedance of the A/F sensor 16 and the generated heat amount of the heater. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
