<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct backlight capable of improving lamp image with improved luminance, and with a wide angle of field property to make the lamp bright. <P>SOLUTION: The direct backlight is formed into face-to-face shape close to the light source 1, and a diffusion plate 2 and an optical sheet 3 are installed successively from the light source 1 side.
