PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of providing comfortable sleeping throughout the year by controlling a temperature of a bed room corresponding to temperature rhythm changing at each season. SOLUTION: In this air conditioner, a sleeping mode operation control means comprises a discriminating means for discriminating the relationship among an upper limit value and a lower limit value of an indoor temperature and a duration time value, and a sleeping mode control pattern storing means with a room temperature variation character curved line from the start of sleeping mode control to the termination of control having a gradual decreasing area for temporarily gradually decreasing an indoor temperature from a user set temperature before the start of controlling the sleeping mode, and a gradual increasing area for gradually increasing the indoor temperature to the termination of control after the gradual decrease. In a sleeping mode control pattern, a temperature value which is temporarily gradually decreased, is determined slightly lower than the set temperature, and a temperature value after the termination of control is determined higher than the set temperature in a summer mode, and the temperature value temporarily gradually decreased is further determined lower than the set temperature in the summer mode and the temperature value after the termination of control is determined slightly lower than the set temperature in a winter mode.
