PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone system wherein a call is originated from an extension telephone set related to a personal computer (PC) to an opposite party telephone set in response to a call origination request from the PC. SOLUTION: The telephone system comprises: a gateway apparatus 1 connected to outside lines 91, 95 and connected to inside lines; a key telephone base unit 3 or private branch exchange (PBX) connected to the gateway apparatus 1; a plurality of extension telephone sets 5-1 to 5-n connected to the key telephone base unit 3 or private branch exchange; and a plurality of PCs 7-1 to 7-n connected to the gateway apparatus 1. The extension telephone sets 5 and the PCs 7 are positionally correspondingly disposed, and the gateway apparatus 1 includes a relational database for relationally storing the extension telephone sets 5 and the PCs 7. If a special number for call origination request is received from any extension telephone set 7 after a call origination request from any PC 7, the extension telephone set is comparatively judged using the relational database and if the extension telephone set is related to the PC 7, a call is originated to an opposite part described in the call origination request from the PC 7.
