PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication apparatus and a wireless communication method capable of easily setting wireless LAN connection. SOLUTION: A wireless LAN communication unit 9 is connected to a wireless LAN to perform communication. A short-distance wireless communication unit 15 performs short-distance wireless communication with a short-distance wireless reader/writer. A communication system connection application control unit 20 automatically sets wireless LAN communication based on wireless LAN setting information acquired via the short-distance wireless communication unit 15, and an information storage means 25 stores wireless LAN communication setting.
