PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selection device excellent in operation property while adopting a relatively simple and compact device constitution. SOLUTION: A selection gate 21 and a switching gate 23 are formed on an escussion 15. At AT mode, when an operator advances/retreats a selection lever 12 in a selection gate 21, a shift range is successively switched between P range, R range, N range, D range and D3 range. When the selection lever 12 is once operated from a neutral position toward the switching gate 23 in the state that the D range or the D3 range is selected, it becomes MT mode and a shift stage is successively switched between fourth speed state to first speed state by advancing/retreating the selection lever 12 in the selection gate 21 by the operator.
