PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a conventional dust collecting apparatus for a ladle is large-sized and expensive on the whole. SOLUTION: A dust collecting apparatus for a traveling ladle comprises a movable dust collecting means 3 mounted on a carriage 2, a bellows type duct 4 communicatingly connected to the suction port of the movable dust collecting means 3 at one end of the bellows type duct 4 so as to serve as an expandable duct, a dust collecting hood 5 mounted on the other end of the bellows type duct 4, and a travelling means 6 for moving the dust collecting hood 5 mounted on the movable dust collecting means 3 above the inlet opening of the ladle.
