PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive metal carrier of high performance by remarkably reducing the ratio of a catalyst reservoir part in a cell and exceedingly reducing the futile use of a wash coat liquid and noble metals. SOLUTION: In the metal carrier having a core 12 provided with many cells 11 formed by stacking metallic thin sheets 10, each metallic thin sheet 10 has a wavy shape, and the tips 10a and 10a of each wave are joined, so as to form the above core 12, thus the ratio of the catalyst reservoir part 15 to the opening area of the cell 11 can be remarkably reduced compared with the conventional catalyst reservoir part formed in the case a thin sheet with a wavy shape and a thin sheet with a flat shape are stacked.
