PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a massage machine capable of more accurately detecting the position of the shoulders of a user by a simple structure and effectively transmitting the massage motion. SOLUTION: The massage machine at least comprises a seat part, a backrest part and a massage unit disposed inside the backrest part in such a way as can be moved upward/downward. The massage unit can make kneading and/or tapping motions. The massage unit is oscillatably attached to an oscillation shaft 11 fixed in the left/right direction under left and right frames of a machine body unit 10. The rear end of an air cell 15 for oscillating the massage unit around the oscillation shaft forward is fixed to an air cell base 14 fixed above the left and right frames of the machine body unit, and the front end of the air cell abuts to a pad plate 16 disposed above the massage unit. A holder valve is disposed in an air circuit for feeding air to the air cell. In addition, the massage machine also has a detection means for detecting the oscillation of the massage unit.
