PACKET LENGTH CONTROLLER AND PACKET LENGTH CONTROL METHOD AND ROUTER DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet length controller and a packet length control method for optimizing the packet length of a communication packet using an IPsec so that the packet length can be maximized in the range of PMTU and a router device equipped with such a packet length controller.

SOLUTION: This IPsec router device 11 including a packet length controller for controlling the packet length of a communication packet is provided with a maximum packet length calculating part 31 for, at the time of transmitting the communication packet by applying an IPsec, calculating the maximum packet length of the communication packet in such an extent that the IP fragmentation of the communication packet to which the IPsec is applied is prevented in the middle of a communication path.
