<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress erroneous operation when selecting a three-dimensional menu. <P>SOLUTION: A control stick is made operable in three directions of x-axis, y-axis and z-axis directions. The x-axis and y-axis directions are made to correspond to lateral and longitudinal directions of a display, respectively and the z-axis direction is made to correspond to the depth direction of the display. When the control stick is operated in the z-axis direction, menus of lower hierarchies (arrayed in the z-axis direction) are sequentially displayed.
