<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a succeeding printing process from being left waiting by controlling the sequence of processing printing jobs having their printing demands already registered. <P>SOLUTION: A printing control method for processing printing data from an information processing device connected through a network by a printing device comprises the steps of making the judgment whether printing data contains a command for making a shift to an off-line state of stopping the printing process is included or not on the basis of the printing data transmitted from the information processing device and shifting the printing device to the off-line state when the command is included in the printing data as the result of the above judgment. Then, the method further includes the step of monitoring the printing device shifted to the off-line state to check if the off-line state is canceled or not, and when the off-line state is canceled within a specified time, the printing control method makes the printing device execute the process of the printing data, and when the off-line state is not canceled within the specified time, the printing data is deleted, and the off-line state is canceled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
