PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital multifunction machine capable of displaying not only a received document but also related documents at the same time by retrieving in a document management according to retrieval information such as protocol data, data of a front page sending slip, and data on user setting at the time of facsimile reception, and acquiring and displaying a list of the related documents. SOLUTION: In a document management system where a document management apparatus capable of accumulated document retrieval and a digital multifunction machine capable of communicating with the document management apparatus are connected, the digital multifunction machine has a printer 302, an operation part display 303, a system memory 305, a page memory 306, a communication control unit 308 and the like. The apparatus has a display means for retrieving in the document management apparatus at the time of facsimile reception according to the retrieval information on the received document and communication protocol to acquire and display a list of retrieval.
