PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for forming a screw thread where a screw thread milling area and a screw forming area are offset each other. SOLUTION: The tool generating the screw thread on a workpiece is equipped with (a) at least one screw thread generating area 10 to 18, and the screw thread generating area is equipped with (a1) at least one screw thread milling area which is operated without removing material and (a2) at least one screw thread forming area which is operated without removing material. (b) At least one screw thread milling area and at least one screw thread forming area of at least one screw thread generating area are mutually jointed or connected to (b1) be rotated around the tool axis or rotatable. (b2) The screw thread milling area and the screw thread forming area are mutually offset, and/or disposed along the outer periphery of the screw thread generating area so that one side is positioned at the back side of the other side in the rotating direction around the tool axis.
