PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray irradiator which can detect a relative rotation angle of a collimator box with respect to an X-ray tube and an X-ray imaging apparatus with such an X-ray irradiator. SOLUTION: This X-ray irradiator is equipped with an X-ray tube which has a flange (200) formed around an X-ray output window, a collimator box (14) which has an X-ray incidence window on the entry plate (500) and accommodates a collimator on the inside, a ring (610) provided on the entry plate so as to surround the X-ray incidence window to accommodate the flange (200) of the X-ray tube and has a plurality of radially penetrating slots, a plurality of tongue pieces respectively inserted through the slots from outside to inside of the circular ring through the plurality of slots to press the backside of the flange (200), and sensor means (504, 504) provided inside the flange to detect a relative rotation angle of the collimator box (14) respect to the flange (200).
